At AF Aesthetics, one of our main areas of focus is non-surgical lifting and tightening. We offer a curated selection of devices for face and neck rejuvenation as well as wrinkle treatments and threads. Now we have added an exciting new option: MyEllevate, the suture suspension procedure for neck and jawline contouring.

MyEllevate offers an alternative to invasive neck lift surgery for those in the earlier stages of the ageing process. To learn more about MyEllevate or any of our other treatments for skin laxity and contouring, please get in touch.

What Is MyEllevate?

MyEllevate lifts and tightens the neck and jawline area. As we age, it’s natural to notice some skin laxity in these regions. MyEllevate targets these issues using an innovative suture system designed to support the skin as well as the underlying muscles, fat and glands in the neck area.

We are pleased to bring MyEllevate to AF Aesthetics as it offers many benefits:

  • Less invasive approach than neck lift surgery
  • Only local anaesthesia used
  • No linear incisions required
  • Less scarring than surgery
  • Shorter recovery period than traditional neck lift surgery
  • Preliminary results are visible right away

MyEllevate joins our many options for non-surgical neck lifting and non-surgical facelifting, including Profound, Ulthera, Thermage and Accent Prime. After discussing your goals and preferences, our experienced team of doctors and aesthetic professionals will design a comprehensive plan for non-surgical face and neck rejuvenation using a multimodality approach.

How Does MyEllevate Work?

Unlike invasive neck lift surgeries, MyEllevate doesn’t involve extensive incisions or tissue removal. Instead, it provides an internal framework that supports the neck tissues.

During the MyEllevate procedure, a specialised illuminated suture rod is introduced into the skin through small puncture points. This light-guided rod is used to create a channel beneath the skin, then pass a non-absorbable suture through the neck muscles and soft tissues to create a hammock-like suspension system. When the suture is tightened, it lifts and holds the tissues in place, smoothing the neck and jawline.

What Can Be Treated With MyEllevate?

With this innovative approach to neck rejuvenation, we can address:

  • Skin laxity in the neck (turkey neck)
  • Loose skin along the jawline (jowls)
  • Loose skin under the chin
  • Drooping platysma muscle

Who Is a Sydney MyEllevate Procedure Suitable For?

The MyEllevate suspension neck lift is an option for individuals who wish to refine their neck contours and have good skin elasticity. Here at AF Aesthetics, we’ve found the Sydney MyEllevate procedure to be particularly suitable for those who:

  • Are beginning to notice loosening in their neck skin
  • Desire a more defined jawline and chin
  • Prefer a less invasive alternative to a traditional neck lift
  • Seek subtle enhancement with less visible scarring

We cherish the individuality of each client and believe that any treatment you choose should be tailored to your personal needs. Therefore, a detailed consultation is necessary to understand your goals and determine whether MyEllevate is appropriate for you.

How Are MyEllevate Procedures Performed?

The MyEllevate procedure takes approximately one hour. To begin, your surgeon administers local anaesthesia to ensure you remain comfortable throughout the treatment. The injections are quick and feel like a tiny pinch.

Once the anaesthetic has taken effect, your surgeon will create a few small punctures in the treatment area. These serve as entry points for the illuminated suture rod and non-absorbable suture. Your surgeon will then guide the rod to create a channel beneath the skin.

Next, the suspension matrix is created. Your surgeon will use the channel to pass the suture through the muscles and soft tissues. After the suture is positioned accurately, your surgeon will tighten it to create a lifted contour and anchor it into place. The puncture points are then closed with a medical adhesive, leaving less visible scarring.

What Is the Expected Recovery After MyEllevate?

After the MyEllevate procedure, you will go home wearing a chin strap. Some swelling and bruising are normal side effects in the first few days after treatment. Continue to wear the chin strap during this time. The swelling and bruising typically resolve after one to two weeks.

Most patients are able to resume their normal routine within a few days. Your neck and jawline may feel tight for several weeks, but this should not interfere with most daily activities.

Follow-up care is a crucial aspect of recovery. We’ll schedule check-ups to monitor your progress and ensure the results are developing as expected. Remember, everyone’s recovery process is unique. We will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions and an anticipated recovery timeline tailored to your specific situation.

When Will I See Results From the MyEllevate Procedure?

The MyEllevate technique allows for almost immediate appreciation of its results. As soon as the procedure is complete, it is possible to see a more defined jawline and a smoother neck contour. However, please keep in mind that these results are preliminary, as your body will need time to heal and adjust to the suture support system.

As the post-operative swelling and bruising subside, the new contours of your neck and jawline will emerge more clearly. Our team will help you understand the procedure in detail, ensuring you have a realistic idea of the outcomes to expect from your procedure.

How Long Do MyEllevate Results Last?

Most of our patients find their MyEllevate results are enduring, with visible enhancements that can last several years. The treatment also stimulates your natural collagen production, which may extend its benefits.

Of course, it’s important to remember that individual results vary, and no procedure can stop the natural ageing process. Your body is always changing, and your skin will continue to lose elasticity over time. With AF Aesthetics, your treatment is an ongoing dialogue, and our team is here to help as your goals and needs evolve.

MyEllevate FAQ

What are the side effects of MyEllevate?

While MyEllevate is less invasive than traditional neck lift surgery, all procedures carry potential risks and side effects.

Responses to the procedure may include swelling, bruising, discomfort, tightness and/or temporary numbness in the treated area. Though less common, there is a possibility of infection, as with any procedure. At AF Aesthetics, we have rigorous health and safety protocols in place to minimise this risk. Our team will provide you with clear aftercare instructions to follow at home to further reduce potential complications.

Is there a difference between MyEllevate and thread lifting?

Both MyEllevate and thread lifting are less invasive techniques for lifting and smoothing the skin. However, they are distinct in their mechanisms of action and outcomes.

Thread lifting is a light lift towards the surface of your skin. The procedure uses thin, dissolvable threads placed beneath your skin to lift and reposition facial and neck tissues. Over time, the threads dissolve, and their effect fades away. Results may last up to two years.

MyEllevate does more than lift your skin. The suture suspension system also provides support to the underlying muscles and glands of your neck. The suture is non-absorbable, meaning it does not dissolve. This makes it a more enduring solution than thread lifting.

How does MyEllevate compare to a traditional surgical neck lift?

A surgical neck lift is a more extensive and invasive procedure performed under general anaesthesia. Incisions are placed around the ear, behind the hairline and sometimes underneath the chin. This approach allows for considerable adjustment of the neck tissues, making it a robust solution for those with significant signs of ageing. However, it comes with a longer recovery time, potential for more discomfort and a higher risk of scarring.

MyEllevate is performed under local anaesthesia, with no large incisions or drains. Instead of extensively reshaping tissues, it provides support to your natural anatomy with a suture system. As a result, it offers a more subtle enhancement to your neckline, while reducing the risks, discomfort, downtime and scarring associated with a traditional surgical neck lift.
