The ageing process affects our eyes in various ways. In addition to the development of the fine lines we call crow’s feet, you might notice the skin of your upper eyelids beginning to sag, and your undereye area becoming dark, hollow or puffy. These changes can make you appear angry or unrested.
The good news is eyelid surgery is no longer the only way to address these issues. Non-surgical eye lift techniques (also known as non-surgical blepharoplasty) can take years off your appearance without general anesthesia, incisions or a long recovery period. What Is a Non-surgical Eye Lift?
Non-surgical eye lift is a category of procedures that encompasses many techniques. Some approaches focus on reducing sagging skin and wrinkles in the upper eyelids, while others rejuvenate the lower eyelid area by minimising lines and restoring smoother contours. One or a combination of the treatments described below may be used depending on your individual needs.
How Does a Non-surgical Eye Lift Work?
By combining injectables, skin resurfacing, collagen stimulation and skin tightening procedures, our providers can significantly improve many signs of ageing in the eye area.
Anti-wrinkle injections can rejuvenate the eyes in two ways. If upper eyelid hooding is a concern, lifting the brows with anti-wrinkle injections (a non-surgical brow lift) may help reduce the heaviness and sagging. In the under-eye region, anti-wrinkle injections are frequently used to soften crow’s feet. Both treatments last three to four months on average.
The area under our eyes loses volume as we age, causing hollow tear troughs and making pockets of fat more pronounced. Strategically placed dermal fillers can fill in the gaps to create a smoother surface and a more refreshed, rested expression. The longevity of fillers varies but is typically six to 12 months.
Microneedling stimulates the growth of collagen and elastin, two critical components of firm, healthy skin. Our Secret RF system pairs microneedling with radiofrequency energy for a more significant tightening and lifting effect. Results are long-lasting after completing an initial series of treatments.
CO2 laser resurfacing is one of the most powerful ways to transform the skin. The benefits of laser resurfacing include collagen and elastin generation, skin tightening, reduced wrinkles and crepiness, improved clarity and more even skin texture and tone. One treatment can produce improvements lasting a year or more.
Thermage FLX utilises radiofrequency energy to help tighten and contour skin. This treatment can be used in the upper region of the face to subtly lift the brows, tighten heavy upper eyelid skin and reduce wrinkles. Positive results can be seen after one session and last one to two years.
Ultherapy promotes collagen regeneration and skin tightening by sending ultrasound energy into the deep layers of the skin. Applying it to the forehead can lift the brows and upper eyelids, creating a more open and youthful appearance. Ultherapy is also an excellent choice for non-surgical facelifting and neck lifting.
Who Is a Sydney Non-surgical Eye Lift Suitable For?
Though there are nuances to each of the treatment options above, there is a common theme regarding suitability. Non-surgical techniques are generally most appropriate for patients with mild to moderate concerns, while patients with advanced to severe concerns typically achieve the best results with surgical approaches.
Our goal at AF Aesthetics is to give you the best results with the least downtime and discomfort. Your provider will weigh up these considerations when designing your personalised treatment plan.
What Is the Expected Recovery After a Non-surgical Eye Lift?
Our non-surgical techniques offer the benefit of minimal downtime (and, in some cases, none at all). Most of these treatments require no time off work or social engagements, though some patients may choose to wait a day for side effects to dissipate. Fortunately, any side effects are typically mild and short-lived.
The exception to this is CO2 laser resurfacing. As a more aggressive ablative technique, it can require some downtime and aftercare. Our medical professionals will advise you of what to expect based on the intensity of your treatment.
What Are the Expected Results of a Non-surgical Eye Lift?
Like recovery times, results vary based on which procedure(s) you choose. Fillers produce immediate results and fully integrate with the tissues in 14 days. Anti-wrinkle injections develop visible results around four days and reach full potency at 14 days. Treatments that rely on collagen regeneration tend to show results around two to three months, with improvements continuing for up to six months.

Non-surgical Eye Lift FAQ
Non-surgical Blepharoplasty vs. Eyelid Surgery — What is the difference?
It is always important to match the right procedure with the right patient. Non-surgical approaches are increasingly effective and elegant, but even with these advances, they cannot exactly match the results of surgery. Our team may recommend eyelid surgery if you have a significant amount of heavy, drooping upper eyelid skin or a lot of puffiness in the under-eye area.
Is non-surgical eye lift a painful procedure?
Our non-surgical procedures are generally well tolerated by our patients. Some do not require any anaesthetic, while others are comfortable with topical measures. Your provider will discuss your options for pain management.
Which non-surgical eye lift procedure is the best?
There is no such thing as one “best” procedure for everyone. We take great care to personalise every treatment for every patient, whether it is your first visit to AF Aesthetics or the most recent of many. If you have any questions, concerns or preferences, please share them during your consultation.
